Effect of Atorvastatin and Vitamin D against Multi-drug Resistant Staphylococcus spp and Escherichia coli Isolated from Bovine Mastitis Cases

چکیده

Background: In the current scenario, emergence of antimicrobial resistance has made it difficult to treat bacterial infections alone using antibacterial agents. Methods: Milk samples collected from 100 mastitis affected cows August 2018 June 2019 and were stored at 4°C. After species confirmation, isolates subjected ABST screened for genes - mecA, blaTEM PCR. Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) tetracycline ampicillin determined against both Staphylococcus spp E. coli, in combination with atorvastatin, vitamin D by a modified microdilution method. Result: coli showed 80.65% 85.71%, 100% 85.71% ampicillin, respectively. Atorvastatin did not display effects as sole agents species. However, there was significant decrease MIC when combined atorvastatin but tetracycline.

Characteristics and genetic diversity of multi-drug resistant extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Escherichia coli isolated from bovine mastitis

A characterization of the drug resistance profiles, identification of PCR-based replicon typing, and multilocus sequence typing (MLST) and analysis of 46 ESBL-producing Escherichia coli from cows with mastitis are described. All multidrug-resistant isolates of various phylogenetic groups (A = 31, B1= 3, B2 = 2, D = 10) were ESBL-producers of genotypes CTX-M-15 (29), CTX-M-55 (4), CTX-M-14 (4), ...

Cloning, Expression, and Immunogenicity of Fimbrial-F17A Subunit Vaccine against Escherichia coli Isolated from Bovine Mastitis

There is a need to identify and select new promising immunodominant antigens that have the ability to provide protective immunity against E. coli causing bovine mastitis. Recently we showed that f17a was found to be the most prevalent and crucial virulent factor among the pathogenic E. coli isolated from bovine mastitis. Here, in this report, the recombinant F17A based subunit vaccine adjuvant ...

Efficacy of Amikacin and Imipenem Against Multi-Drug Resistant Gram-Negative Bacteria Isolated From Wound Infections

Background and Objective: Gram-negative pathogens are considered the common cause of wound infections associated with increased mortality and morbidity rates. Antibiotics combination has been used to overcome this problem. Aims: In this study, we identify Gram-negative pathogens found in wound infections and assess the in-vitro efficacy of a combination of amikacin and imipenem against the resi...

Virulence Properties of Shiga Toxin-Producing Escherichia coli Isolated from Cases of Bovine Mastitis in Brazil

Mastitis is a major problem in dairy farms and E. coli mastitis especially is a major disease in cows (1) because of the latter increasing incidence and severe symptoms (16). The concept of E. coli mastitis is that the organisms live in the environment and contaminate the teats probably as a result of fecal contamination (20). Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) isolates are an important group...
